Broadcast-to-streaming transformation takes a practical step forward at IBC 2026: BroadView Software today announced that Nexus, its cloud-native workflow orchestration platform, will make its public debut in Amsterdam, alongside new AI capabilities and advanced schedule planning tools.
TORONTO, Ontario, Canada — September 7, 2026 — BroadView Software, a leading provider of broadcast management solutions, today announced that Nexus, its cloud-native workflow orchestration platform, will make its public debut at IBC 2026.
One Workflow From Schedule to Screen
Working alongside Uplynk, a cloud-native streaming platform, and additional ecosystem technology partners, Nexus was deployed to support a major global media client, operating one of the industry’s most complex channel portfolios, in transitioning from satellite-based distribution to cloud-based streaming. In the deployment, BroadView’s broadcast management system maintained the operational record — schedules, traffic, and work orders — while Nexus converted those business decisions into precise, coordinated instructions to every downstream system, allowing Uplynk to execute streaming delivery and media processing at global scale.
The result is one continuous operational workflow from schedule to screen: systems stay synchronized in real time, handoffs that historically required manual effort are automated end-to-end, and cloud resources are activated only when needed, keeping infrastructure and storage costs in check as channel counts scale.
This new system addresses and greatly reduces the pressures driving broadcast transformation across the industry: rising satellite distribution costs, end-of-life infrastructure, and the need to launch new channels and endpoints faster than dedicated hardware allows.
“This project is a working blueprint for broadcast-to-streaming transformation,” says Michael Atkin, President & CEO, BroadView Software. “The same architecture that carried our client from satellite to cloud-native streaming can carry the next broadcaster through master control in the cloud, facility consolidation, or hybrid linear and streaming operations. What we have built together with our ecosystem partners is an enviable template that will accelerate broadcast operations.”
Practical AI, Built for Daily Users
At its stand, BroadView will also demonstrate new AI capabilities within its core scheduling product, built to save working time for daily users rather than to decorate executive reports. These include natural language querying (asking for content in plain English instead of building complex structured queries) and automated metadata augmentation, with further examples shown live at the show. Every AI capability is designed to be manageable, auditable, and secure, with customer-controlled limits on spend, module access, and user permissions.
Planning Tools for Programmers and Sales Teams
BroadView will additionally showcase analytics dashboards for sales, presentation schedule management and schedule planning, built for the people who use them every day. These strategic planning tools will let programmers set goals for seasons a year or more ahead, test plans against demographic targets, reach and frequency, cost structures, and genre mix, and, where inventory falls short, turn the gap into concrete acquisition and production guidance.
“We are a proudly Canadian-based, globally recognized media management company that, for over 30 years, has served broadcasters in over 20 countries,” says Mia Andrews, Executive Director & CMO, BroadView Software. “IBC is where our international relationships are built in person. Strengthening those partnerships face to face is exactly why we love being at this show.”
